Prep time: 20 mins | Bake time: 30–35 min | Yield: (1) 10″ skillet of biscuits
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Butter an 8″ cast-iron skillet with melted butter, reserving the remaining butter.
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Stir in heavy cream with a fork until just moistened. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface, knead until it comes together.
With floured hands, shape dough into a 1.5″ thick disk. Cut out 2.5″ diameter circles with biscuit cutters. Gather scraps, form another disk, and cut more biscuits until all dough is used.
Dip each biscuit in reserved butter and sprinkle all sides with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Place biscuits in the skillet, starting from the outside and filling in towards the center.
Spoon 1.5 cups of Bonne Maman Apple Pie Filling over and between the biscuits.
Sprinkle optional pecans over the top, for remaining butter over the dough and filling, then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar on top.
Bake for 30–35 minutes until biscuits are rising, golden brown, and apple filling is bubbling.
Allow to cool slightly. For glaze, mix powdered sugar with milk and vanilla in a small bowl until smooth, then drizzle over warm biscuits.
