Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Butter an 8″ cast-iron skillet with melted butter, reserving the remaining butter.
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.\
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Stir in heavy cream with a fork until just moistened. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface, knead until it comes together.
- With floured hands, shape dough into a 1.5″ thick disk. Cut out 2.5″ diameter circles with biscuit cutters. Gather scraps, form another disk, and cut more biscuits until all dough is used.
- Dip each biscuit in reserved butter and sprinkle all sides with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Place biscuits in the skillet, starting from the outside and filling in towards the center.
- Spoon 1.5 cups of Bonne Maman Apple Pie Filling over and between the biscuits.
- Sprinkle optional pecans over the top, for remaining butter over the dough and filling, then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar on top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until biscuits are rising, golden brown, and apple filling is bubbling.
- Allow to cool slightly. For glaze, mix powdered sugar with milk and vanilla in a small bowl until smooth, then drizzle over warm biscuits.
