Steps
*When buying fairy lights, make sure the battery and control box are small enough to fit into the jar if you want to close the lid. The jar is about 3 inches deep and 2 ¼ inches from side to side on the bottom.
- Firstly, if you’re choosing to decorate your jar’s lid with a seasonal ornament, do that before putting in the fairy lights. We used painted wooden stars for our ornaments, and we affixed them to the lids with a hot glue gun.
- Now, put the fairy lights into your jar. If you find the battery box to be a visual distraction, you can cut a plain-white piece of cardstock to roughly that dimension (2 ¼ inches by 3 inches) and “hide” the batteries behind, facing the fairy lights outward!
